questa è una delle prime opere di giorgione . il soggetto fu tratto dalle antichità ebraiche da giuseppe flavio ( 2 . 9 : 7 ) Mosè è stato adottato da Pharaoh's figlia . un giorno a corte il faraone posò scherzosamente la sua corona sulla testa del piccolo mosè che la gettò immediatamente a terra e la calpestò . questo fu preso come un presagio dai cortigiani che mosè avrebbe rovesciato faraone . Per metterlo alla prova , sono stati portati due piatti , uno contenente carbone bugia e l'altro ciliegie . Mosé , guidato da un angelo , scelse i carboni e li mise in bocca che fu bruciato . In tal modo si dimostrò innocente di qualsiasi intento traditore .
